Dear General Raj Kadyan,
I am amazed why our Veterans seem to think negative. After all, all strategies are made taking situations into account and also keeping options open.
I do feel that one of the most positive outcome of all of us deciding to support NDA was that we were successful in creating a fear of our vote bank and the Congress was rattled. UPA Government even ordered a Committee of Secretaries to which you very appropriately reacted and said nothing short of full OROP. Can they get away now. We have the support of Karan Thappar, wait for a while and Karan to anchor another programme in which he can remind the UPA of their commitment. NDA can be requested to take on the UPA in the Parliament and literally say things to the effect that "was ordering a committee of Secretaries on OROP seems to have been only a ploy to try and capture some ESM votes etc. I think all in all we are in an excellent posture with Medals also lying in deposit, lots of noises having been made, to pursue and achieve our aim of OROP.
Had we made the mistake of directly supporting UPA they would have only said "see ESM have no strength, they have finally accepted what we gave them and are therefore still supporting us".
We must move on and like true soldiers and thinking Generals among them capitalise on every opportunity to achieve our immediate aim of OROP.
