Dear Colleagues,
The Finance Minister, in his budget presentation to the Parliament today, made a mention of ‘one rank one pension’. Only sketchy information is available to even those who watched him on the TV – I myself did not. Reportedly, the main beneficiaries are the pre-1997 PBOR pensioners, who have been brought at par with post-1997 and pre-2006 pensioners. That is a positive.
From what is known, OROP as is commonly understood has not been sanctioned. However, fuller details have to be awaited before any objective analysis in possible.
